Why the World is Going to Shit…

I was online about to check my e-mail and I clicked on to this article about Starbucks. After I finished reading the article, I read the comments and I was not amazed.  I wish I could say that I have never read such stupid comments from such stupid people.

How sheltered are the lives of so many, when they demonstrate how they spend all their time following this weeks trend, drinking expensive, cheap coffee and commenting on something as irrelevant as the closing of 600 stores of a multi billion dollar corporation, and then go on to defend it as if they were doing everyone some kind of favor by making its money through manipulating people into thinking they need to overpay for a product you can get anywhere else. meanwhile the world is getting hotter, religion more extreme, wars closer to home, jobs being lost, people are starving next door, education is not educating, ignorance is globalizing, cultures are being lost and replaced with corporate lifestyles, oil is too expensive and contingent to global warming which is causing animals to rapidly become extinct and history is repeating because it is an unreliable source……

so much more is happening in the world that deserve the attention that has been obviously reserved to the worries of losing one of the two stores in the block where some people get the latte that, marketing and good PR, has made them think is both good and cool to pay more for…..

Next up…..why gum sales is more important than the rising price of food…hence my title.

    to iffi:

There are countless reasons why people do bad things. Some people do bad things because they feel that their cause is good and that there is no other way to get results. In some cases they are right: Revolutions against oppression for example, to gain independence. And many times they are wrong. Some do it for the welfare of others and some do it for their own welfare. But it’s not that black and white either. People suffer no matter the cause. There are many different opinions as to why people do bad things and what defines whether they are bad or not or even what is “bad”.
It is not only up to world leaders to make things better. World leaders are a handful of people (o.k., probably more), but compared to the rest of billions of people that populate this world they are too few. Although they are a good tool for getting results, it is up to us to show more interest, involvement, and determination.
The way you are expressing your distaste for Israelis and Muslims is just what the problem in these issues are. Many people say “fuck you” and have no idea what they are saying it to, or why. It is very hypocritical to insult a country and an entire religion and pin only them for the “bad things” that happen and then say, god bless us. You show no intention of doing anything to help and have resigned to leave it up to the “leaders”(why not god, or Santa, or the tooth fairy?) to fix everything. Then you go on to unconstructively and, in contradiction to your own opinion, show how you have the same attitude which you seem to detest.
The only ones that can grant peace would be us, the humans living on this planet, not god. Inform yourself a little more, read the news from both sides and point of views, read about other countries and their situations, do some research, analyze, and then, maybe, you can come up with a better, more informed way to have an opinion that will contribute to a solution. Don’t display your ignorant hatred for everyone to read, because that will make you part of the reason why things can’t get better.

i admit it was wrong 2 xpress dat way bout da Israilis but i didn’t say nything bout da Muslims. It is jus dat y do ppl tend 2 be n do bad not just to Muslims but also non-muslims..this is wat i’m tryin 2 xpress…wat i mean by sayin dat ‘word’ is not like i hate other religion or other country but only the people who create such CHAOS n DISASTER…it is jus the people that i hate…i dun hate their country neither religion..i dun think i agree wit the point that we’re the only ones who can grant peace..why do muslims n non-muslims alike pray to God?Do they not ask God for many things?Like the Hndus, they believe that God is cow, sun and why do Christians believe in Jesus?Dun they ask their God for help, peace, blessings and many2 other things in life?

I relllyyy hope we cn share this thought…thnxs a lot.

The reason I expressed that our action is the only thing that will get results is firstly, and with no disrespect to your beliefs, that I do not believe that there is a god to pray to and am very skeptic and suspicious when it comes to all religion.

If you fall down and get hurt, religion urges and teaches you to pray so that god can make it better, while our natural response is to get up and fix it. Why hinder our reasoning and ignore what we know to be true or not in order to follow a fairytale fed to us as the absolute truth. I believe people should stop being so purposely willing to be ignorant, naïve, and easily guided like sheep, and look at problems in simple terms. This is my philosophy in regards to hoping and believing versus thinking and solving.

To be honest about all these bad people that do bad things….it is merely a matter of perspective intertwined with a variety of learned traits that derive from religion, culture, geographic location (terrain,climate..etc.) and knowledge or the lack there of. It’s all about gossip.

Gossip in the form of selective media coverage, selected personal accounts, speculation from news channels and personalities, movies and books created by people who manipulate the stories to make money or who get funds from manipulating sources….all of it is merely based on some facts…where only the location and wardrobe are correct and sometimes not even that. But all of this in the end is just gossip.

You won’t know what is going on in specific places unless you actually go. And even then, the account will only be of your own personal experience, and therefore your own personal perspective. People in other countries hate the U.S. not because they know something we don’t…but because they are fed a different perspective….the same thing happens in the U.S. when it comes to other countries. Most people believe the gossip without it having to be proved because they are too trusting of the source. Also, in most cases, when someone actually knows what is going on, they are incapable of remaining objective and, by human nature, they always pick a side.

Objectivity is very difficult when people are dying and suffering on both sides. That is understandable. It may be that our “leaders” throughout the world, or at least some, are diplomatic enough to take use of skillfully looking at situations objectively, but we won’t know about it because…for example, parents tell children what they believe they should know and children can only go by what they’re told…if the parent is an idiot this can cause the child’s ignorance of the matter to turn to hate and this hate can turn to violence….. These children represent the largest part of the world’s population. We can’t help but to go on what we are told and if what we are told causes us to hate, then it is no wonder why the world is in the state is in.

  7. iffi Says:

So u think dat dis all r gossips??For me it’s not gossip or media thing but it’s da reality. I’ve been 2 few countries n dis is wat i see n wat is der on the media is totally true.Is wat u see n they can’t lie…well dey r things like dat which r nt true but wat hppened dring World Trade Center , Palesine n many more…it’s all true isn’t it…ppl have da right 2 hate ppl who do bad things 2 uther ppl be it race, nationality, religion or wateva, they hav da right n it’s good…

  8. postthought Says:

what I meant is that the media selects portions of reality to report. They only show you the side that they want you to ralate them to in order to alarm you and to get you interested in whatching. like old ladies talking in the front porch, they only state the bad things and leave out the good for lack of interest. And yes, people have the right to hate anyone but that doesn’t mean that it’s a good or well thught out decision…and the reasons that they hate eachother is mostly due to miscommunication or lack of proper, unbiased communication (media). I wish people would stop thinking so small and start looking at the bigger picture….the us is not at war in the middle east because of hate…it’s because of interest and we both bomb eachother and kill eachother for the interest of our employer (the country)…that is all…its so simple…no hate….soldiers have nothing to do with the decision to start a war….yet many Americans hate muslims and feel like there is some kind of personal battle between the people who just bombed your country….its not you they hate, its the government…..the people who shoot in a war don’t even know eachother….its just their job to shoot. it’s all politics. But most soldiers themselves don’t even realise that. how sad.
